About The Position
Dove Healthcare - Regional Vent Center is a State-approved ventilator-dependent skilled nursing center in the Chippewa Valley. The 44-bed center cares for patients with advanced, chronic respiratory needs and complex medical conditions, and has a history of helping patients wean from ventilators and tracheostomies and return home when possible. Respiratory Therapists work as part of an experienced interdisciplinary team that includes a board-certified pulmonologist, nurse practitioner, respiratory therapists providing 24-hour coverage, ventilator-certified nursing staff, a wound-care-certified nurse, on-site dialysis, and rehabilitation therapists trained in ventilator and tracheostomy care. Experienced professionals and new graduates are encouraged to apply. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered. This is a full-time role with shift options listed as 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, 6:00 PM–10:00 PM, and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM. Every other weekend and every other holiday are required.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, and other extensive respiratory needs.
- Provide ventilator management.
- Perform tracheal tube changes, suctioning, and tracheal care.
- Administer respiratory medications and services.
- Clean and maintain respiratory equipment.
- Properly interpret pulse oximetry.
