The Respiratory Therapist provides services prescribed by a physician for the assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment, management, and monitoring of patients of all ages (Neonate through Geriatric) with cardio-pulmonary function deficiencies and abnormalities. This role requires the ability to perform routine, non-critical, critical, emergent, and advanced modalities of respiratory care, with established competency. The therapist must be able to administer and understand Broncho pulmonary drugs, including their actions, delivery modes, hazards, contraindications, and adverse side effects. Critical thinking and effective time management are essential for prioritizing patient care. The position also involves effective documentation, recommending therapy changes, contributing to quality improvement, and efficient resource utilization.
