As a Respiratory Therapist, you’ll provide life-saving care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. You’ll work under physician direction to deliver advanced respiratory therapies and support across a variety of settings — from the ICU to the OR, ED, and beyond.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of total respiratory care experience, including at least 1 year in critical care
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Therapists credentialed after July 1, 2002 must maintain NBRC certification
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • If practicing in Maryland, a Maryland Respiratory Therapist license is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (AHA-compliant, including didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire
  • Act 33 Clearance (with renewal)
  • Act 34 Clearance (with renewal)
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)

Nice To Haves

  • In lieu of an Associate’s degree, candidates must have 5–7 years of experience or hold NBRC certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer advanced therapies such as Nitric Oxide and Tracheal Gas Insufflation
  • Perform procedures including bronchoscopy, ABG lab troubleshooting, pulmonary function tests, EEG, EKG, stress testing, and more
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust treatments accordingly
  • Assist in transporting ventilated patients and respond to emergency code situations
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for students and junior staff
  • Step into a leadership role when needed, functioning as Lead Therapist in the absence of a supervisor
  • Must complete one approved department project annually, with the first project approved within 3 months of hire
