About The Position

North Vista Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II). Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the practitioner performs respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of patient care, considering age- and population-specific needs and requirements. The practitioner may occasionally be assigned or identified as Lead RCP, with responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Requirements

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), or obtain it within three months of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain it.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA or ARC upon hire and maintain it.
• Nevada Department of Health and Human Services Blood Gas Technologist license within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate.
• Associate degree or Bachelor of Science degree.
• Two years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider.
• Assess, plan, implement, and document care while considering patients’ age- and population-specific needs and requirements.
• When assigned as Lead RCP, assume responsibility for the section or department during the shift.
