About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT)/ Certified (CRT) is responsible for implementing medical prescriptions for respiratory care, maintaining adequate supplies and equipment, and providing high-quality respiratory therapy services. The RRT will assess patients' respiratory conditions, recognize adverse effects of treatments, and take appropriate corrective actions. This role may also involve outpatient testing, pulmonology clinic, participation in patient education, working with a team, equipment evaluation, and repair.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
  • RT/CRT or current MO license in Respiratory Care required.
  • BLS upon hire or within 30 days.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • PALS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Able to work well in a flexible and demanding environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to privacy regulations.
  • Proficient with computers and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift, move, or support patients and equipment as needed.
  • Manual dexterity for operating respiratory care equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in respiratory care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory therapy as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, symptoms, and response to treatments.
  • Recognize and address adverse effects of respiratory treatments, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Understand and manage the properties and combustible characteristics of compressed gases.
  • Maintain and manage respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
  • Apply knowledge of isolation techniques, anatomy, and vital signs measurement (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, respirations).
  • Participate in patient education and outpatient testing/pulmonology clinic.
  • Evaluate and repair respiratory therapy equipment as required.
  • Document patient care and therapy outcomes accurately
