About The Position

Sentara Health is recruiting a full-time, night-shift Respiratory Therapist at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. Experienced therapists and new graduates may qualify. Sign-on bonuses of up to $20,000 for qualified full-time candidates and up to $10,000 for qualified part-time candidates are available. Relocation and moving allowances may be available to candidates outside the geographic area. The hospital describes an energetic team committed to continuous improvement and peer coaching. Sentara Leigh offers opportunities for training, development, and growth. The facility is a 274-bed acute care hospital with a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital and specialties including orthopedic and spine care, heart and vascular care, maternity care, and general surgery. It is also a Primary Stroke Center and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, and houses the region’s only 24-hour hyperbaric oxygen program. The full-time base pay range is $37.61–$55.27 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. An annual discretionary bonus may be available when system and employee eligibility criteria are met.

Requirements

Associate's or bachelor's degree required. Non-degreed applicants with RRT credentials obtained before January 1, 2006, and graduates of military respiratory therapy programs with RRT credentials will also be considered.
State respiratory license required.
NBRC RRT credential required at hire, except new graduates may obtain it within six months of hire.
BLS required at hire.
No experience required.
For new graduates, state license and BLS are required at hire; NBRC RRT must be obtained within six months of hire.
