About The Position

Join our team as a day shift, PRN, Respiratory Therapist in Tulsa, OK. Individuals within this job classification are accountable for assessing, implementing, evaluating and documenting respiratory care in accordance with HMC standards and under the direction of the department Manager and Medical Director in order to deliver efficient, effective and quality respiratory care. The Registered Respiratory Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. This individual is responsible for the administration of oxygen, various treatment modalities, and ventilator management. He/she is expected to adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practice Act. Must be able to demonstrate awareness and appropriateness in the care of patients at end of life.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science (A.S. degree required/ B.S. degree preferred).
  • NBRC credential as a RRT or new graduate that obtains RRT NBRC credential within 6 months of graduation and or a newly hired CRT that obtains RRT within 6 months of hire.
  • Active Oklahoma Respiratory Care Professional License as outlined by the OK Medical Board.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Must obtain ACLS, within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing, implementing, evaluating and documenting respiratory care in accordance with HMC standards and under the direction of the department Manager and Medical Director.
  • Delivering efficient, effective and quality respiratory care.
  • Providing respiratory care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
  • Administering oxygen, various treatment modalities, and ventilator management.
  • Adhering to and abiding by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practice Act.
  • Demonstrating awareness and appropriateness in the care of patients at end of life.
