Requirements

Must hold a valid license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the State of Texas.
Required to maintain current certifications in CPR, ACLS, and PALS.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine treatments including IPPB, nebulizers, oxygen delivery, and chest physiotherapy (percussion, drainage, suctioning).
Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators; ensure adequate ventilation during CPR and emergency situations.
Perform arterial punctures and blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, and EKG/EEG procedures as required.
Review patient charts, document treatments legibly, and communicate effectively with physicians and the clinical team regarding patient status.
Process, clean, and package RT equipment for sterilization; maintain departmental cleanliness and monitor crash cart supplies.
Abide by all state/federal regulations and hospital policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
