About The Position

Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care. The following roles are available: Respiratory Therapist I (no prior work experience needed; graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy and license required) Respiratory Therapy Supervisor (3 years of related experience and RT license required; graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy and license required) Respiratory Therapy Manager (5 years of respiratory therapy experience with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity; graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy and license required).

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy and license required
No prior work experience required.
Can be licensed as RT or TT.

Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential is preferred.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatric areas
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Adult areas

Responsibilities

Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition.
Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
