About The Position

Regions Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join their group of collaborative professionals who work in partnership with the patient care team in the development, modification, and implementation of the respiratory care plan. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will administer routine and specialized respiratory and critical care interventions to inpatients and outpatient patients of Regions Hospital, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescence, adults, and geriatric patients. The Regions Hospital respiratory care department has 74 RTs who provide hemodynamic monitoring for all patient populations. They also have an offsite pulmonary lab that provides full service pulmonary function/cardiopulmonary stress testing.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy and/or graduation from a two-year American Medical Association approved training program in Respiratory Care OR Coursework and credentials (i.e., graduate of two-year respiratory therapist program plus CRT credential) which meet the qualifications for the registry exam of the National Board for Respiratory Care may substitute for the associate degree.
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the State of Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • BLS Certified.
  • ACLS within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist within one year of hire.
  • One-year Respiratory Therapist experience.
  • NRP Certification.
  • Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS).
  • Fundamentals of Critical Care Specialty (FCCS).
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT).

Responsibilities

  • Administer routine and specialized respiratory and critical care interventions to inpatients and outpatient patients.
  • Provide hemodynamic monitoring for all patient populations.
  • Work in partnership with the patient care team in the development, modification, and implementation of the respiratory care plan.
