Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hour emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care and urology.

Requirements

Associated Degree in Respiratory Care
A minimum of 1 year of experience
Oklahoma CRT license (upon hire)
RRT license for Registered Respiratory Therapist ONLY (upon hire)
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
ACLS (within 30 days of hire)
NRP (within 60 days of hire)

Responsibilities

Set up and operate various types of equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and or illness.
Provide administration of respiratory specific gases and medications, and modes of therapy for the respiratory compromised patient.
Respond to emergencies throughout the hospital.
Advise on arterial blood gas results.
Assist in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
May assist in the ordering of department supplies.
Take and record verbal and telephone orders from physicians as necessary.
Act as a resource person to nurses, physicians, residents, interns, respiratory staff, students and other hospital staff in regard to initiation and operation of all respiratory procedures.
May assume a Charge role in the absence of the Respiratory Supervisor.
Take an active part in attending departmental in-service/education programs.
Participate in Quality Assurance programs, and participate in department and/or HHC committees.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
