Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hour emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care and urology.

Requirements

  • Associated Degree in Respiratory Care
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Oklahoma CRT license (upon hire)
  • RRT license for Registered Respiratory Therapist ONLY (upon hire)
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • ACLS (within 30 days of hire)
  • NRP (within 60 days of hire)

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various types of equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and or illness.
  • Provide administration of respiratory specific gases and medications, and modes of therapy for the respiratory compromised patient.
  • Respond to emergencies throughout the hospital.
  • Advise on arterial blood gas results.
  • Assist in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
  • May assist in the ordering of department supplies.
  • Take and record verbal and telephone orders from physicians as necessary.
  • Act as a resource person to nurses, physicians, residents, interns, respiratory staff, students and other hospital staff in regard to initiation and operation of all respiratory procedures.
  • May assume a Charge role in the absence of the Respiratory Supervisor.
  • Take an active part in attending departmental in-service/education programs.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance programs, and participate in department and/or HHC committees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
