About The Position

As part of the respiratory therapist team, the Respiratory Therapist partners with physicians and staff to provide patient-centered care and outstanding service with respect. The role advances patient plans of care to achieve the best possible outcomes and provides age- and culturally appropriate care to patients and families. The therapist provides treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies; implements conventional ventilation methods; and performs duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, and storing respiratory equipment.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree from an accredited respiratory care program.
• Indiana Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Registered by the NBRC or eligible; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential within 18 months of graduation date or start date.
• Experience working in respiratory therapy.
• Knowledge of respiratory treatment modalities.
• Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and visitors.
• Ability to evaluate and provide care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
