The Respiratory Therapist (RT) will utilize respiratory therapy processes to support patient assessment, including pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiograph interpretation, hemodynamic values, and laboratory values. They will operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care settings, assist physicians with procedures, and administer medication treatments and therapies as prescribed. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, educating patients on their conditions and therapies, and collaborating with other departments. The RT will also be responsible for teaching and orienting new team members and students, demonstrating effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills, and promoting a culture of safety by recognizing and applying proper safety measures. This position requires the ability to adapt to policies and procedures across various service areas and maintain performance standards. The therapist must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development over the lifespan.
