Responsible for the overall clinical, technical and administrative functions at the location on record regarding the Home Respiratory Therapist program. This role involves the installation and delivery of respiratory therapist equipment, provision of supplies and products to patients in their homes, and ongoing assessment of patients and equipment. The position requires clinical contact with physicians, healthcare practitioners, and others involved in patient care for home respiratory therapist services. It also includes maintaining accurate records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, and preventative maintenance records. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of assets and supplies, vehicle maintenance and service, and ensuring all pertinent demographic information is updated regularly. The role oversees applicable regulatory rules and guidelines, and is responsible for the orientation and training of subordinate staff service technicians. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with adherence to cost-containment policies. Collaboration with office staff for prompt and accurate billing and documentation, and with clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote services are key aspects of the role. Ensuring proper, accurate, and safe operation of all equipment prior to installation is required. The position requires availability for patient contact and response to patient needs, and participation in a rotating on-call schedule with fellow RTs. Teamwork with other RTs, PCCs, and various departments is expected to ensure tasks are completed. Other duties and projects may be assigned.
