About The Position

Encompass Health is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to provide compassionate care to patients facing respiratory challenges in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role supports patients’ rehabilitation, well-being, and progress toward independence, using specialized skills and respiratory care equipment and technology as part of a collaborative team.

The Respiratory Therapist provides direct care involving medical gas, breathing therapy modalities, and medication; supervises care and breathing treatments; leads patient assessments; creates personalized care plans; and addresses patient concerns. The role also involves building relationships with patients by understanding their physical, mental, and emotional needs and supporting their recovery.

Requirements

• Current state license in Respiratory Therapy.
• CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification.
• Two years of hospital experience in Respiratory Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients who need medical gas, breathing therapy modalities, and medication.
• Supervise patient care and breathing treatments.
• Lead patient assessments and create personalized care plans.
• Identify and resolve patient concerns.
• Understand patients’ physical, mental, and emotional needs to support successful recovery.
