About The Position

As a Respiratory Therapist at Columbia Ancillary Services, you will provide direct patient care – delivering assessment, treatment, and ongoing management for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. You will work closely with referring physicians to develop and execute individualized treatment plans that drive meaningful, long-term patient outcomes. In this role, you will build ongoing relationships with your patients — seeing them through diagnosis, treatment, education, and disease management. You are a clinical expert and a communicator, bridging the gap between technical respiratory care and the real lives your patients lead outside of a hospital. You report to the Director of Operations and operate with a high degree of clinical autonomy and professional accountability. This is not a role for someone who wants to punch in and punch out. It is a role for someone who wants to advocate for their patients, elevate clinical standards, develop professionally, and leave the function better than they found it.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) in the state of practice; RRT credential strongly preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Proficiency in non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP), home oxygen therapy, and nebulizer/aerosol treatments
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to manage a patient schedule and prioritize effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail; you notice changes in patient status across visits, you document thoroughly, and you follow up before small concerns become larger ones
  • Clear, confident communicator who can build trust with patients over time and collaborate effectively with physicians, care coordinators, and support staff

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
  • outpatient or pulmonary clinic experience a significant plus
  • new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered
  • The ideal candidate balances clinical rigor with a warm, patient-centered approach. In an outpatient setting, relationships are everything — we are looking for someone who brings both precision and genuine care to every interaction.

  • Setup, education, and follow-up for home respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, home oxygen, and airway clearance devices

  • Participation in quality improvement initiatives, care protocols, and interdisciplinary care conferences
  • All other duties as assigned
