Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a PRN Respiratory Therapist. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. The schedule for this PRN position will be a mix of day and night shift and will also include weekends.
Requirements
- Associate Respiratory Therapy
- 5 Years RT experience in ICU setting
- RRT License in state of Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from American Heart Association
Nice To Haves
- 2 Year Pediatric experience
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily planning via patient rounds.
- Work as part of the interdisciplinary team for the plan of care for patients.
- Increase knowledge in orthopaedic care to improve outcomes for patients and families.
- Opportunity for academic growth through participation in research projects.
- Provide primary respiratory care to patients from admission through their discharge under a physician's order.
- Communicate verbal and/or written patient and departmental information/special needs to pertinent persons in a timely and appropriate manner (i.e. rounds).
- Document accurate, specific, complete patient care data according to policy and procedure guidelines.
- Assure safe, cost effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilize appropriate infection control techniques in all areas.
