About The Position

Riverview Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), referred to internally as a Respiratory Care Provider (RCP), to join its Respiratory Care team. The RCP works under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager. This is a per diem/PRN role with variable shifts; available shifts are 12 hours, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The position is located in Gadsden, Alabama.

Requirements

Alabama state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from NBRC.
BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained as current.
ACLS certification upon hire and maintained as current.
PALS certification upon hire and maintained as current, or obtained within 60 days of hire.
High school diploma.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or Bachelor of Science degree.
NRP certification.
Two years of experience as an RCP.

Responsibilities

Provide inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily.
Conduct pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess patients’ lung capacity and gas exchange.
Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients unable to breathe independently.
Participate in rapid response emergencies by providing airway management, performing intubations, and resuscitating patients in critical situations.
Assess patients’ respiratory status, monitor their progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Clean, sterilize, and maintain respiratory equipment to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
