About The Position

The Corewell Health Sleep Center is a 16-bed outpatient facility serving patients of all ages, including infants and children. It is staffed by board-certified sleep experts, including physicians and nurse practitioners for both adults and children. The center features six dedicated pediatric rooms, three of which are equipped with cribs, to support young patients and their guardians. The facility conducts day tests such as MSLT and MWT and can accommodate patients requiring daytime sleep studies, including night shift workers, as ordered by a physician. They also provide Home Sleep Apnea Testing for various conditions and are the only sleep center in their region catering to infants. Accommodations are available for parents, guardians, or spouses accompanying patients during sleep studies.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree of Applied Science degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Respiratory Therapist - State of Michigan License Upon Hire
• Registered Respiratory Therapist - NBRC Registry Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Upon Hire or Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Red Cross Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

• At least one Certification from preferred list

Responsibilities

• Implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders.
• Participates in the education of patients, students, staff, and physicians.
• Provides technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care.
• Assists with general department functions.
