About The Position
The Respiratory Therapist provides various therapeutic modalities to patients under medical direction. Delivers preventative and/or restorative care to patients with cardiopulmonary needs.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapist training program.
- Must have and maintain current licensure in the State of Rhode Island.
- Proficiency in the English language required.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
- Administers aerosolized agents (IPPB, handnebulizer, M.D.I.).
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge/skills of respiratory therapy and equipment.
- Assumes lead in absence of supervisor, assigning shift workload and handling problems.
- Provides respiratory therapy to adult and neonatal patients in NICU and adult units.
- Initiates and maintains ventilator support in critical care areas.
- Provides oxygen therapy as ordered by physician.
- Completes reports and records detailing respiratory therapy care.
- Provides patient monitoring services/devices per physician request.
- Provides resuscitative support to all areas of the hospital.
- Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality.
- Performs other job-related duties as required or requested.
