About The Position

Hopedale Medical Complex (HMC) is seeking a qualified, skilled, and customer service-oriented Respiratory Therapist to join their team of professionals. The Respiratory Therapist works closely with Physicians, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive quality care. Their role involves administering medications and respiratory treatments to help treat or cure respiratory illnesses. They may also be responsible for educating patients about respiratory conditions, their causes, and home care. Respiratory Therapists perform all duties of respiratory care for patients of all ages under physician guidance, utilizing patient assessment and therapeutic skill to provide services in accordance with practices and standards. Training for Pulmonary function testing is offered. This is a night shift position with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Graduate from an AMA credentialed respiratory therapy program
  • Current Illinois State Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • At least one year of experience preferred
  • Basic computer skill with Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, EMR, etc...
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess, collect, and interpret appropriate data needed to identify the patient's needs relative to age specific responses and communicate such information to patient care team.
  • BLS/CPR and ACLS certified or willing to obtain ACLS certification upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and respiratory treatments to help treat or cure respiratory illnesses
  • Help patients learn more about respiratory conditions, their causes and how to care for themselves at home
  • Perform all duties of respiratory care for patients of all ages under the guidance of a physician
  • Utilize patient assessment and therapeutic skill to provide respiratory services in accordance to practices and standards, according to policies and procedures
