About The Position

Pomerene Hospital, located in Millersburg, Ohio, is a 25-bed rural critical access hospital and a significant employer in Holmes County. It is dedicated to providing quality, patient-centered healthcare services to the region, including emergency care, surgical procedures, and specialized treatments. They are currently seeking part-time and full-time Respiratory Therapists to join their Respiratory Care team.

Requirements

  • Completion of Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program - Required.
  • Medical Board State of Ohio Respiratory Licensure - Required.
  • National Board of Respiratory Care Certification - Required.
  • BLS, ACLS and NRP Certifications - Required (May be obtained within orientation period).
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification - Required (May be obtained within first year of employment).

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 Years of Respiratory Therapy (RRT & CRTT) Experience in a Healthcare/Medical Setting - Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining, analyzing, testing, measuring, and monitoring blood gas samples.
  • Administering, monitoring, and recording results of medical gases, aerosols, and bronchopulmonary hygiene techniques.
  • Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mechanical ventilation.
  • Administering medications for the testing or treatment of cardiopulmonary impaired patients of all ages.
  • Setting up and operating various types of equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary disease and/or illness under the supervision of the Respiratory Manager and upon physician request.
  • Moving throughout the facility as needed.
  • Appropriately assisting in emergency drills and situations.
  • Demonstrating the physical, clinical, and professional capacity to provide respiratory care.
  • Providing respiratory care under the direction and on the order of a physician or approved practitioner.
  • Working cooperatively with unit staff, physicians, and ancillary departments.
  • Performing all tasks and duties according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrating commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
  • Actively supporting and encouraging Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient.
  • Including PSP / family member in explanations/discussions of testing, procedures, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions when applicable.
