About The Position
Shriners Children’s is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to participate in daily patient rounds and work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop care plans for burn and orthopedic patients. The position allows for increased knowledge in burn and orthopedic care to improve patient outcomes and offers opportunities for academic growth through research projects. This is a night shift position working 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Associate Respiratory Therapy
- RT license in state of practice
- CRT
Nice To Haves
- 2 Years Respiratory Therapy experience in an ICU setting
- 2 Year Pediatric experience
- RRT
Responsibilities
- Provides primary respiratory care to patients from admission through their discharge under a physician's order
- Communicates verbal and/or written patient and departmental information/special needs to pertinent persons in a timely and appropriate manner (i.e. rounds)
- Documents accurate, specific, complete patient care data according to policy and procedure guidelines
- Assures safe, cost effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilizes appropriate infection control techniques in all areas
