Respiratory Therapist
About The Position
Under minimal direction, the Registered Respiratory Therapist implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in diagnosing and managing patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders. The therapist participates in educating patients, students, staff, and physicians; provides technical support for equipment related to Respiratory Care; and assists with general department functions. The Respiratory Care Department provides comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients of all ages. Respiratory therapists collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver care that includes diagnostic testing, therapeutic interventions, and patient education. The department uses technology and evidence-based practices to manage respiratory conditions. This full-time position is based at Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital and is scheduled for 36 hours per week on the night shift, from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Days are variable, with work required every other weekend. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is advertised.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan, required upon hire.
- Respiratory Therapist registry through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required upon hire.
