About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Grand Itasca as a Paid Respiratory Therapy Student Intern! This paid internship program provides interns the opportunity to develop technical skills, build confidence in their abilities, and better prepare them for their future in Respiratory Therapy. The internship rotation is intended to help prepare for national certification and future employment at Grand Itasca upon successful completion of the internship program! Upon graduation, Interns will transition into a benefit eligible Respiratory Therapist position!

Requirements

Enrolled Respiratory Therapy student, with one semester of successful completed coursework, and intent to complete Respiratory Therapy program.
Ability to work a minimum of 32-48 hours per month (2 weekends).
Basic Life Support certified or obtain within 4 months.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.

Nice To Haves

Successful completion of first semester of Respiratory Therapy program.
Must be enrolled and completing second semester of Respiratory Therapy program.
Must have BLS certification.
Enrolled and completing second year of Respiratory Therapy program.

Responsibilities

Work as Respiratory Therapy Assistant a minimum of 32-48 hours per month (2 weekends).
Work towards obtaining Basic Life Support certification as eligible.
Work as a Respiratory Therapy Intern a minimum of 32-48 hours per month (2 weekends).
