About The Position

The Alan B. Miller Medical Center, a new state-of-the-art neighborhood hospital, is opening in Spring 2026. It will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building, and a helistop, offering comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services, as well as outpatient services. The Respiratory Therapist (RRT), PRN, fulfills the needs of patients, families, and the community by performing a variety of routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures, and patient assessments in accordance with their licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. This role also involves maintaining and stocking respiratory equipment and ensuring ventilator and life support equipment are operable during assigned shifts. Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved two-year respiratory therapist program.
  • A minimum of 1-year full time experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
  • Must be able to identify and competently address the needs of the population served.
  • Licensed by the State of Florida.
  • Licensed as a RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist and certified by NBRC.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills the needs of the patients, families, and community by performing a variety of routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures, and patient assessments in accordance with his/her licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains and stocks respiratory equipment.
  • Ensures ventilator and life support equipment are operable during assigned shift.
