About The Position

This position represents patient care directed toward critical care areas, step down areas, general care areas and critical care transports.

Requirements

• Licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program.
• Ability to function in critical settings.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.

Nice To Haves

• Certification of BLS (required within 90 days of hire or transfer).
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• Additional experience relating to intubation and critical care transport competencies.

Responsibilities

• Initiation and support of mechanical ventilation.
• Intubation.
• Critical care transport.
• Performing and recommending procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, respiratory diagnostic procedures, and all levels of mechanical ventilation.
