About The Position
This position represents patient care directed toward critical care areas, step down areas, general care areas and critical care transports.
Requirements
- HS/GED Required.
- Licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Ability to function in critical settings.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
Nice To Haves
- Certification of BLS (required within 90 days of hire or transfer).
- ACLS and or PALS certifications.
- Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program.
- Additional experience relating to intubation and critical care transport competencies.
Responsibilities
- Initiation, and support of, mechanical ventilation.
- Perform and recommend procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, respiratory diagnostic procedures, and all levels of mechanical ventilation.
