About The Position

Under general supervision, administers respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. Trains and acts as a resource for Respiratory Therapy Department. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. He or she will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by his or her supervisor. Works as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary team in providing acute and critical care as prescribed.

Requirements

• BLS Required
• ACLS Required

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.
• Trains and acts as a resource for the Respiratory Therapy Department.
• Manages ventilator and BiPap/CPAP equipment.
• Performs Arterial Blood Gas sampling and analysis.
• Administers medication via nebulizer and metered dose inhaler.
• Cross-trains in PFT studies.
• Works as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary team in providing acute and critical care as prescribed.
• Restricted on call required.
