As a Night Shift Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at WakeMed Cary Hospital Campus, you’ll play a critical role in delivering high‑quality, compassionate respiratory care during overnight hours. As an RRT at WakeMed Cary, you’ll evaluate, treat, and manage adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with respiratory illnesses and cardiopulmonary disorders across a variety of clinical settings. You’ll play a key role in improving patient outcomes by performing comprehensive respiratory assessments and diagnostic procedures, delivering all respiratory care treatments as ordered, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and airway management, evaluating treatment effectiveness and adjusting care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, educating patients and families to support understanding and continuity of care, responding to emergency situations and providing life‑saving respiratory support, and documenting care in the electronic medical record with accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism. Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Active North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Responsibilities

  • Performing comprehensive respiratory assessments and diagnostic procedures
  • Delivering all respiratory care treatments as ordered, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and airway management
  • Evaluating treatment effectiveness and adjusting care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Educating patients and families to support understanding and continuity of care
  • Responding to emergency situations and providing life‑saving respiratory support
  • Documenting care in the electronic medical record with accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism
