Geisinger is proud to offer a Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) a $15,000.00 hiring incentive for eligible candidates, competitive rates and up to $5.50/hr. shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! This role involves assessing patients' respiratory care needs, planning and evaluating treatment modalities, and ensuring an excellent patient/family experience. The position requires thorough patient assessments, establishing care plans, and effective communication with the patient care team. Responsibilities include performing and documenting routine therapeutic modalities, managing mechanical ventilators, providing patient education, assisting with transports, and managing acute airway emergencies. The role also involves setting up and managing non-invasive monitoring, assisting with discharge planning for respiratory-related DME, adhering to regulatory requirements and standards of care, and collecting arterial blood gas samples. Maintaining patient confidentiality is crucial. After one year of employment, the RRT may function as the Shift Coordinator. Additional duties include assisting with fiberoptic bronchoscopy procedures, invasive monitoring line placement, hemodynamic measurements, intra-hospital transport of age-specific patient groups, and serving as a preceptor for orientees and students. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment, and the employee is accountable for job-specific obligations and organizational policies.
