About The Position

As a Respiratory Therapist with AdaptHealth, you’ll deliver high quality, patient centered respiratory care in alternate care settings. You’ll manage preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative therapies while collaborating closely with physicians, referrals, and caregivers to ensure safe, effective transitions to home.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
  • One (1) year of clinical experience as a Healthcare Respiratory Therapist, HME Respiratory Therapist or Nurse with ventilator experience
  • Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch or Associate degree in Nursing with an active and unrestricted LPN or RN license
  • CPR certification
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • Company conducted Background Check is required for all roles
  • Company conducted Motor Vehicle Record Check is required for driving roles
  • Clinical roles require valid licensure/certification, where applicable

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience providing respiratory care with any of the following PAP, ventilator, airway clearance, or oxygen therapy
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision making, and problem solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and adapt care as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain flexible in a fast paced, changing healthcare environment
  • Technical aptitude with Microsoft Office and clinical systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and manage respiratory therapies including PAP, ventilator, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy
  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, interpret findings, and provide recommendations to physicians and referral sources
  • Conduct patient set-ups, follow-ups, and education, ensuring patient and caregiver confidence with equipment
  • Participate in highly technical discharges, planning ahead to support smooth transitions to home care
  • Monitor patient progress, follow up with physicians and referrals, and document outcomes and recommendations
  • Provide clinical in-services and education to hospital staff and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control, PPE, HIPAA, and patient safety standards
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation and charting in compliance with ACHC and company standards
  • Review and maintain Plans of Treatment and Care Plans to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate and assist with CPAP/BiPAP authorizations and referrals
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and manage respiratory equipment and supply inventory
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
