About The Position

This role shadows an assigned, licensed provider prior to obtaining their license. This role is not be responsible for direct patient care prior to obtaining a Maryland licensure. This position precedes the licensed respiratory therapist position. This is a temporary position to be used for a limited period (approximately 2 months) from the date of employment. All employees are responsible for extending the mission and values of Baltimore Washington Medical Center by dedicating oneself to providing the highest quality healthcare services to the communities we serve.

Requirements

• Graduation from an AMA approved program by the National Board of Respiratory Care in Respiratory Therapy is required by hospital orientation date.
• Must have application submitted to take the NBRC TMC exam by the date of hire.
• Current BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Shadows an assigned, licensed provider prior to obtaining their license.
• Not responsible for direct patient care prior to obtaining a Maryland licensure.
• Works on rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Observes Standard (Universal) Precautions and safe handling practices.
• Completes an annual respirator mask fitting.
