Respiratory Therapist CRT
About The Position
Responsible for providing respiratory care services. This includes evaluating patient outcomes, making changes to the plan of care within the multidisciplinary team, and providing explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible persons regarding respiratory disease processes, intervention procedures, and discharge. The role also involves accepting reassignments to other units when necessary, sharing clinical knowledge with staff and students, and serving as a role model for clinical practice. Additionally, the position entails performing preceptor duties for staff and students, planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of respiratory care, and providing respiratory care as ordered by a physician while maintaining communication with medical and nursing staff. For lead responsibilities, this includes coordinating workflow for efficient personnel utilization, assisting with the orientation of new employees/students, and supporting the manager/supervisor with daily department operations.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree from Respiratory accredited program
- CRT
- RCP with State of Illinois
- BLS
- NRP- MHC required within 90 days of hire
