About The Position

Location: Hollywood, Florida Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities. Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care. Summary: Our Transport program provides complete care for high acuity patients from infant to adolescent during inter-facility transport via ambulance or fixed wing. Transport Respiratory Therapists (RT) ensure continuity of care, medical management and safe transport of patients. From ventilatory/cardiac monitoring to ICU level of care, RT's work directly with doctors, nurses, other medical professionals to give best possible outcomes for patients.

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required. Must be able to safely and securely fasten seat belts and shoulder harnesses in aircraft or ambulance, as provided by the aircraft or ambulance manufacturer, without modification to those safety devices.
  • Three (3) years of Neonatal or Pediatric critical care experience required.
  • Must complete Neonatal Pediatric Specialist within one (1) year of hire date: PFCCS - Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support; Neonatal Transport (MHS course)

Responsibilities

  • Implements patient population specific interventions based on individual patient needs.
  • Organizes coordinates and prioritizes respiratory care activities considering the needs of the patient.
  • Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • Assesses the patient s cardio/ pulmonary system according to professional practice standards and institutional policy/procedure.
  • Demonstrates leadership in the delivery of patient care.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of care and care coordination progressing patients toward desired outcomes.
