About The Position

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Under the general supervision of the Manager (or designate), the incumbent provides therapeutic, diagnostic, technical and teaching respiratory therapy services consistent with discipline and professional standards while adhering to the employers’ mission, values and management philosophy.

Requirements

Recent and related clinical experience preferred.
Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT approved equivalent, if internationally educated.
Current registration with the MARRT.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training in accordance with Employer policy.
Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines.
Demonstrate professional judgement and initiative.
Knowledge of the physiological, social, cultural and economic aspects of patient care.
Ability to organize and complete assignments with a minimum of supervision.
Willingness to adapt to new concepts, techniques and best practice in the academic and clinical fields of health care.
Experience with computers including office productivity and e-mail software.
Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search).
Child Abuse Registry Check.
Adult Abuse Registry Check.

Nice To Haves

Current registration/membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
Competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
