Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Respiratory Therapist - Tennessee
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

  • Exemplifies knowledge of the cardiopulmonary system in order to perform the delivery of clinical care, while utilizing standards and practice and in accordance with the hospital mission and vision.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and to follow written and oral communication.
  • Knowledge of biopsychosocial and spiritual aspects of human behavior ranging from newborns to geriatrics.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, empathy, and unconditional positive regard towards all patients and co-workers.
  • Establishes measurable yearly goals and objectives.
  • Promotes positive customer relations.
  • Compliance with organizational requirements, including policies, procedures and regulations specific to the Respiratory Care Department.
  • Mechanism must be provided for contact of the employee (i.e. beeper, telephone, emergency contact).
  • Flexibility in schedule in order to met the needs of the patients, community and staff.
  • Participates in performance improvement to improve patient outcomes.
  • Performs age specific therapy, demonstrating awareness of safety and care for each age group. This includes the importance of individual and family education, knowledge of routine and emergency procedures, knowledge and administration of medications and knowledge of isolation procedures.
  • Able to effectively perform patient handling procedures to ensure patient safety as well as employee safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
