About The Position

The Respiratory Equipment Tech is responsible for the effective cleaning, inspection, proper sterilization and setup and distribution of respiratory devices and equipment, including but not limited to noninvasive and invasive ventilators, high flow systems, pulse oximeters, medical gas tanks, etc. Assures that necessary supplies are available for use on respiratory equipment. Works collaboratively with other departments such as Biomed to stage, retrieve and locate equipment for repair, preventative maintenance and regional sharing. Performs EKGs as necessary and directed by Respiratory care team. Is knowledgeable in procedures for preparing equipment for patient use and serves as a patient safety advocate. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
  • 1 year of experience using personal computer and basic software programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy education program or previous patient care experience may be considered in-lieu-of course work/training/education.
  • 3 months of Acute care experience
