About The Position
The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner (A.R.C.P.) has completed the National Board for Respiratory Care Registry examination (R.R.T.) and is experienced in routine and advanced critical respiratory care. The practitioner applies knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology to provide age-appropriate respiratory care. The role requires clinical application and theoretical knowledge consistent with current literature and accepted professional practice, including cardiopulmonary disease principles and appropriate treatment across the patient lifespan. This is a temporary position at the University of Toledo Health Science Campus. The posted schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The role includes weekend or holiday work, and the practitioner must be able to work all shifts with some rotation. Pre-employment health screening, including drug screening and other screenings required for the position, is required. University of Toledo campuses are tobacco-free.
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), as recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Current State Medical Board of Ohio Respiratory Care Professional license.
- Active CPR and BLS certification through the American Heart Association at the time of hire, maintained throughout employment in the position.
- Good physical and mental health.
- Ability to work all shifts with some rotation.
- Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20, including color vision where applicable.
- Ability to hear, with or without aids.
- Ability to orally communicate.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Ability to push, pull, roll, transfer, or lift 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk frequently.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and kneel frequently.
- Ability to perform CPR.
