About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager and as directed by a physician, the Respiratory Care Practitioner provides excellent patient care by assessing patients’ cardiopulmonary status, setting up and operating respiratory care equipment used to diagnose and treat respiratory disease or illness, and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. This is a full-time, 12-hour night-shift position at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Valid California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• RRT and CRT licensure are required for employees hired on or after November 1, 2019.
• NRP, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Annual AB 508 certification; if not held at hire, it must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer into the department and renewed before expiration.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ cardiopulmonary status.
• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease or illness.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient care as directed by a physician and under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager.
