About The Position

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) administers simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, which assist in the treatment and diagnosis of adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction. Provides care in general and critical care and specialty areas. Possesses advanced skills in assessment and appropriate application of respiratory care services in one age specific group and intermediate skills in other age groups. Records treatment and diagnostic information in the medical record. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program required.
  • Able to assemble and troubleshoot patient/machine equipment.
  • Able to draw blood.
  • Able to assess (patient or examination).
  • Able to perform preventative maintenance.

  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License from the State of California is required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
  • Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification is required.
  • Maintaining a current age-specific Advanced Life Support Provider certification is required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through an American Heart Association (AHA) provider training program is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) is preferred.
