About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper functioning of respiratory therapy equipment, maintaining inventory, and performing related duties to support the department's operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Knowledge and demonstration of competencies of department equipment must be obtained within the probationary period.
• Must be able to transport heavy cylinders of gas.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, sanitizes and reassembles respiratory therapy equipment, utilizing pasteurization process and cold sterilization process, and adhering to high standards of infection control.
• Maintains and stocks adequate inventories of departmental supplies, equipment, apparatus, etc., maintains inventory control system and orders supplies/equipment, as required.
• May perform preventive maintenance activities and/or minor repairs on respiratory therapy equipment.
• May examine emergency units throughout facility to assure proper functioning of manual resuscitators, and related equipment.
• Transports compressed gas cylinders to laboratories and patient areas, as required.
• Performs related duties, as required.
