About The Position

The Respiratory Care Assistant Per Diem will serve as support personnel for respiratory care practitioners. The Respiratory Therapist Assistant is responsible for performing multiple duties in the assembly, transport, and disinfection of respiratory related equipment and medical supplies. The Respiratory Therapy Assistant works under the direction of a Respiratory Care Practitioner. The Respiratory Therapy Assistant is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of equipment and medical supplies in the various respiratory work areas and assisting the Respiratory Therapists with various non-patient procedures and tasks, as directed. The position may assist in training new Respiratory Therapy Assistants or Student Respiratory Therapists on routine therapy assistant functions.

Requirements

Good communication skills. Ability to interact with various levels, including physicians, nursing, co-workers, etc.
Familiarity with medical terminology
Basic computer skills
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous demands
Teamwork focused
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing needs

Responsibilities
