Responsible for assisting with the administration or respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to patients with respiratory problems under the supervision of licensed respiratory therapists.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Must be enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy Program
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the respiratory system.
Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment.
Proficiency in performing basic respiratory care interventions such as oxygen therapy and airway management.
Ability to perform patient assessments and monitor patient progress.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and patient issues.
Ability to adapt in changing situations and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in respiratory care 0-1 year preferred

Responsibilities

Assists with patient assessments by gathering information about patients' respiratory conditions by taking vital signs, measuring oxygen levels, and monitoring breathing patterns.
Prepares equipment for respiratory therapy treatments, such as oxygen tanks, nebulizers, and ventilators.
Keeps accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
Helps with the administration of respiratory therapy treatments, such as oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and breathing exercises.
Cleans and sterilizes equipment after each use to prevent the spread of infection.
In the event of an emergency, assists with resuscitation efforts and notifies the healthcare team.
