About The Position

St. Simon the Apostle Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly qualified Resource/Special Education Teacher to join our faith-filled learning community. The Resource Teacher works collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and administration to support students with diverse learning needs while promoting academic growth, independence, and confidence. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Needs Education, or a related field required.
  • Valid Indiana teaching license in Special Education or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.

  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and intervention services to students with identified learning needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized accommodation and support plans.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum, assessments, and instructional strategies.
  • Conduct academic assessments and analyze student progress data.
  • Participate in student support team meetings and parent conferences.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation regarding student services and progress.
  • Support teachers in implementing best practices for differentiated instruction.
  • Work closely with families to communicate student growth, challenges, and strategies for success.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that respects the dignity and unique gifts of every child.
  • Collaborate with school personnel to ensure compliance with state and diocesan guidelines.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school activities.
