About The Position

Rochester Community Schools is seeking a Resource Room Teacher for Rochester High School for the 2026-27 school year. This is a 1.0 FTE position. The primary goal of this role is to devise and implement individualized programs for students with special needs who require alternative learning methods.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Teaching certificate in area of Special Education
• Physical and mental ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree and/or endorsement in mathematics (EX)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct instruction to students in a resource learning environment or team-teaching with general education teachers.
• Facilitates case management services to students eligible for special education.
• Evaluates the progress of students eligible for special education.
• Communicates with parents regarding questions and concerns about students’ programs and services.
• Collaborates with General Education teachers to ensure appropriate instruction and supports for students eligible for special education.
• Develops and implements IEPs and related documents for assigned students.
• Performs other duties as requested by the Special Education Administrator or Building Principal.
