About The Position

Founded in 1982 as Joliet Area Community Hospice, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness is an independent, non-profit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in Illinois. We have a state-of-the-art facility and the first free standing hospice inpatient unit in Illinois. We have a 35-year history for providing compassionate professional care to terminally ill patients and their families. We are state-licensed and Medicare/Medicaid certified. We are currently seeking a Resource RN to support our patients as well as referrals in the Northern counties of Illinois, primarily Northern Cook and Lake. This is a full-time, salaried position comprised of two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week including every other weekend. Resource RN's are responsible for providing skilled nursing interventions and supportive care in patients' homes, nursing homes or long-term care facilities. This includes administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and plan of care. Additionally, this role will support growth in the North territories by assisting with admissions.

Requirements

RN licensure
minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in home health, critical care or long-term care
Candidate must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
