This position is for a Resource Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical department. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The role may involve administering medications and treatments, demonstrating effective communication, pursuing professional development, and adhering to ethical standards. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff is expected, along with accurate EHR documentation. RNs may be required to float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate age-specific competency. This is a part-time position with no benefits eligibility and requires 1 to 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience. The schedule is self-scheduled with potential for day-to-day floating or 6-week float assignments. Various shift lengths (4, 8, or 12 hours) are available across multiple support sites.
