About The Position

The WI Float Pool is a multi-site resource team supporting Intensive Care Units (ICU) care across the Wisconsin division. Float RNs provide adaptable, high-quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need. Teammates must be flexible, skilled, and ready to deliver exceptional care in a wide variety of settings. This role offers travel-nursing-style variety without the travel, working across multiple Aurora Health facilities through day-to-day floating or 6-week site rotations. It provides exposure to various departments and patient populations, helping prevent routine fatigue and keeping work exciting. This role also builds career experience by demonstrating adaptability, competence, and the ability to manage diverse clinical situations. Competitive compensation includes base pay, float differentials, shift and weekend premiums. Benefits and flexibility include flexible self-scheduling, no on-call requirements, and only two holidays per year.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required
  • 4 Weekend Shifts per 6-week schedule
  • 2 Holidays per year

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years ICU RN Experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing safe, therapeutic, evidence-based nursing care in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrating adaptability by floating to multiple care environments within a designated Zone, integrating quickly into new departments, and collaborating with diverse teams
  • Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience
  • Coordinating care for diverse patient populations within various acute-care, hospital outpatient departments and clinic settings
  • Maintaining the competency required to practice in all acute-care facilities within the designated zone
