About The Position

The Resource Planning Analyst will provide independent resource planning oversight to multiple mid-size business units or one or more larger business units. This role involves engaging as a trusted advisor, anticipating issues and opportunities, and mentoring junior analysts. The analyst will partner with Conn to maintain awareness of scheduled activities, assess staffing impacts, and recommend adjustments for optimal operational performance. Additionally, the role includes completing ad-hoc analysis, initiating process improvements, generating volume forecasts using statistical techniques, assessing staffing drivers, preparing quarterly budget packets, and determining PTO requirements, seasonal workforce, and internships. The position may also involve participation in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum three years progressively responsible and related work experience, including successfully managing a variety of projects from beginning to end.
  • Strong planning, data collection, statistical analysis (hypothesis testing, regression, etc.), and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of forecasting applications like ForecastX, Crystal Ball, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong initiative required, including ability to work independently, create strategies and plans and implement with little direction.
  • Time management skills – ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Strong professional presence
  • Ability to influence and persuade

Responsibilities

  • Provides independent resource planning oversight to multiple mid-size business units or one or more larger business units using strong conceptual thinking and flawless execution. Engages as a trusted advisor, anticipating issues and opportunities.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching to the Resource Planning Analysts and Associates, so that they can efficiently and effectively move up the learning curve.
  • Partners with Conn to maintain full awareness of all scheduled activities, so that the appropriate staffing impact assessments may be completed. Recommendations for adjustments are made, as needed, to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Completes ad-hoc analysis requests that will support the business department decision making process. Makes data driven recommendations to support these initiatives.
  • Initiates and implements workflows and process improvements including projects that have a departmental or divisional scope.
  • Generates volume forecasts for Vanguard’s inbound call and/or processing departments. Creates and maintains forecasting models using both standard and advanced statistical techniques. Leverages data mining and statistical analysis to gain insights into factors influencing volumes.
  • Continually assesses staffing drivers (i.e. volume, handle time, shrinkage, and occupancy) relative to plan, creates awareness within the business as needed, and makes recommendations for any necessary actions.
  • Prepares, in partnership with the business, quarterly budget packets. Analyzes actuals compared to forecasts, and makes recommendations for change that will put the business in a position for success. Communicates results to senior management. Ensures an open channel of communication with business partners and Corporate Financial Services to create a complete staffing need package.
  • Determines and maintains PTO requirements, seasonal workforce, and internships.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned, including potential highly complex projects.
